Does SLK really require SQL Server 2005?

I am helping a large education district who have a SQL Server 2000 platform that they are happy with. They don't want to go to SQL Server 2005 simply to run SLK. Can anyone advise if SLK will run on SQL 2000, if so are there any caveats? If not, why not? Thanks :) Mark

SLK has a separate database and I'm not sure whether it uses any SQL Server 2005 features or not. Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0 only requires SQL Server 2000 (see http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/WSS/en/library/700c3d60-f394-4ca9-a6d8-ab597fc3c31b1033.mspx?mfr=true) so there's a good chance this will work.
