After a day of training 120 staff on the use of the SLK one or questions about the release version came up:-

1. Student panics when homework is due and submits the work back with no content. Is it possible to include a quick way or reassigning the work from the "grade work " section without having to go back out and re-assigning it the student?

2. KS3 in the UK (ie students who are aged 12-14) are graded nationally using a scale which goes 1c, 1b, 1a, 2c, 2b, 2a, 3c, 3b, 3a etc up to 10a ie not numeric. Is it possible for the "out of score" to be free text to allow for grades such as these and grades such as A, B, C, D etc as well as numeric?

Re-activating assignment from Grading Page is a feature in the beta release that is coming soon.

The alphabetical grades feature is an extension that we have thought about but do not have in our implementation plan yet. Main reason we aren’t doing this in v1 is cost in time and resources to implement this. It may seem as simple as allowing text and numbers, but to allow for reporting and form validation it gets a bit complicated. There could be several different ways to implement this. (New field, mapping, etc.) We may want to consider this in future versions, but there are a variety of issues we would need to address. There is an easier option of adding a new column. But given that most people will use either of the two and not both, having two columns does not fit the general scenario. This will be a cool feature to implement locally at your end. Also you may want to consider using the Instructor's Comments field to capture this information as a quick alternative.
