I've offered to do a demo of the SharePoint Learning Kit for a group of people at our organisation. I've got it installed and working OK on my development machine and can upload and assign courses easily enough. All seems pretty straight forward
so far when I have three test users. I add them to a SharePoint group and give them the correct SLK learners permission and then assign them courses.
But what I'd like to know is what happens when I have all 2000+ people to assign a course to. Or maybe I just want to assign the course to one particular group of the 2000 people. What is the best practise for assigning courses like that?
Should I be looking at creating role based groups in SharePoint? I don't know a lot about Active Directory, but is it easier to create them in there? I know our AD guy is pretty good and we'll have a good AD build, will there be built in groups
that contain say all users in certain OUs?
I know there has to be a better way than adding 2000+ names to a group.
