Has anyone tried installing SLK on SharePoint 2010?

Does anyone know if SharePoint 2010 is on the roadmap?

Thanks

I would also like to know as we have a project coming up which requires the kit

Merill / Pobblebonk,

I've successfully installed SLK1.3.1 and SLK1.4 installations into the SharePoint 2010 environment so it is certainly possible and doable depending on your experience / facility with the environments. I'm not privy to the SLK direction here on CodePlex but would bet that 2010 will be a target at some point. We moved quickly into 2010 as our needs included custom Course Manager functionality that we have developed and have now moved into the SharePoint 2010 environment.

Harold

Hi Harold,

Appreciate the response. It sounds like there is some need for tweaking the install to get the SLK's loaded into SP2010 is that correct or was it reasonably straight forward?

Also do they install into the SharePoint Foundation as well as the other versions?

Mat,

I would characterize the mods as considerably more than tweaking - there were quite a few changes required. I have not tried an install of our mods on Foundation. as yet.

Hi

I really need to know as well how to configure SLK1.4 in Sharepoint 2010 or if anyone knows when a compliant version will be released.

Any help would be really appreciated

Thanks

Gary

There maybe something re SLK for 2010 in the next month.

Poder, Garystockerg,

I'm not sure when a 2010 version will get released. The modifications I referred to were quite substantial - they were NOT simple configuration changes but substantial code changes as well.

The updates / installs I have done were for HunterStone - you can contact them to determine their plans regarding these versions.

I have installations running

1. SLK 1.3.1 with Course Manager and the HunterStone SLK and Course Manager extensions.

2. SLK 1.4 with Course Manager and the HunterStone SLK and Course Manager extensions.

I should get the code anyday now. Then I will need to merge it into the current source.

I will be showing SLK running in SP 2010 at the Learning Gateway Conference on 14 July.

I've just got to do some documentation and then I can release.

Great news, I am really desperate for this now, any Idea of a timeframe?

Richard is this a totally new version, or the version that I made by just modifying the aspx files, etc?

Thanks!

That is awesome! I am preparing a server for a little school - they want to start new school year with sharepoint SLK so I did install Foundation 2010, MS SQL Express 2008 and Now I am waiting for your SLK. You will get real life testing startin september 2010 :) I hope it will be of any use for you!

Timing couldn’t be better. I installed and demo’d the 2007 version to a school interested in implementing SharePoint. Due to timing (they are buying new 64 bit hardware) they want to go straight to 2010. I am also scheduled to do small farm install at school next week. Then we’ll look forward to the new 2010 SLK. Thanks so much Richard!

Old thread resurrected. I originally ignored this thread as most of my SLK work is giving my time for free, and the best way to get me to ignore a thread is to keep badgering me.

1.5 is completely new. Microsoft did pass on 2 versions of code to me, but it took so long I had already done the work. One was unchanged and the other very basic and incomplete.
