I have Installed and deployed the solution following the instructions, however when I move on to step 5 (configuring SLK), the SharePoint Learning Kit Configuration page does not show up under Application Management (although when you go to Operations>Global Configuration>Solution Management,  sharepointlearningkit.wsp shows as deployed.

I ran into the same issue - have you resolved the problem?

I ran into a similar problem...  I could only see the option if I was logged in as user who is named in the Farm Administration... If I login as a user that is member of the BUILTIN\Administrators I did not see the options...

I was able to configure it by running slkadm.exe which was included in the zip.  I had to copy a couple files into the same directory in order to run it though.  I had to copy SlkSchema.sql & SlkSettings.xml.dat (which I had to rename to SlkSettings.xml) from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\TEMPLATE\ADMIN\SharePointLearningKit.

slkadm -o configuresite -url "http://mysharepointurl" -databaseserver "mydatabaseservername" -databasename "mydatabasename" -createdatabase -createpermissions

I'm not sure that it's configured correctly, but it's gotten me a little bit further anyway...

For the next release I've included slkschema.sql & slksettings.xml in the zip files.

I've also had another go at getting the configuration page to display, but as that works on my test machines, I'm not convinced I've cracked it yet.
