SharePoint Learning Kit Error - System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement.PrincipalServerDownException: The server could not be contacted

After applying the August 2010 Windows Updates on my domain controller, I am having the following error intermittently in SLK:

SharePoint Learning Kit Error

System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement.PrincipalServerDownException: The server could not be contacted. ---> System.DirectoryServices.Protocols.LdapException: The LDAP server is unavailable.
