We are using Articulate Quizmaker to create content exporting in SCORM 2004 format assigning to student. Students answers questions submits work, all fine so far. When teacher comes to review work, get error message - "Unable to acquire LMS API, content may not play properly and results may not be recorded...... Press OK to view debug" We are using the new Beta1 release.

Debug window returns:-

I think there is a note about this in the release notes. This is a known issue that will be fixed. It happens for any package where the first activity delivered is a SCO.

The work around for now is to select the activity again in the table of contents and the frameset will redeliver the activity and should properly connect to the API.

Hope this helps.

The workaround reloads an empty version of the the work but the students content is missing.

Also a word document saved in SCORM format is not editable when allocated to a student.

For the Articulate content, it may be that the content does not retrieve the students answers from the database. Does review mode work in other LMSes? Some content may not implement a review mode. The default behavior of a lot of content is to create a new attempt for each access of the content. I haven't looked too closely at the options for Articulate. Certainly if you know the content typically retrieves the learner's answers and displays them, then this is probably a bug in SLK and it would be good to get an example of the content for testing.

For the Word save as SCORM. I think that is by design, it basically saves the Word file as html and wraps it into a SCORM object. If you want students to get the real Word file to edit and save, then you may want to assign the Word file directly. Their edits won't be saved to the database, but they can make edits and save it to a document library for instructor to grade.
