ProvisionFromExcel Site Creation

Hi

This scripting of SharePoint site creation is going to be fun, I am basically having to master it as I go along. Can I ask someone to assist me, please?

I am running SharePoint 2007 and I am looking at creating SharePoint sites using the ProvisionFromExcel templates in the SLK source code.

Am I able to specify a site template that the script would use to create each site?

Also, can I use domain users rather than create each user on the local machine?

Cheers

You can by modifying the source code and rebuilding. Line 526 replace "STS" with the name of the template you want to use.

Yes. If you look at the ProvisionData.xls spreadsheet you will see the users are specified as .\EllenAdams. The period indicates that it is a local account. If you want a domain account replace the period with the domain name.

Hi Richard

I have finally had a moment to look at the prep for this.

I have setup the Provisions as you kindly informed me above however I get an error when running the CompileAndRun.bat.

The batch file is unable to find:

Microsoft.LearningComponents.dll;
Microsoft.LearningComponents.SharePoint.dll;
Microsoft.LearningComponents.Storage.dll;
Microsoft.SharePointLearningKit.dll

Below is a link to the PrtScn of the batch.

Where can I get a copy of these files and where do they need to be on the File System?

Able you able to assit when you get a moment?

Cheers

I think that you'll need to build the whole solution first. Run msbuild in the route of the SLK project.
