SLK 1.6 and Reporting

Is there any way I can pull a report from SQL to pass to my ED/Training folks that lists names, course title, score (or completeion p/f) along with completion date? Some way to display it in a list or query on the site? They're hopeful to get it in Excel or similar.

Server 2003, SQL 2005 Standard, SLK 1.6 beta.

Not out of the box. You can of course just query the SLK database. Originally getting the user was difficult as it only stored the SID or user name, but 1.6 added the SPUser id which should make it easier to include in a report.

I have done some work on a commercial product which does this, and hopefully I'll get some reporting into 1.7.

You can use SSIS SharePoint adapters to export from a view straight to a SharePoint list.

It's really not difficult to setup.

here's some info on that.

One other method, is to create a export task, to a text(flatfile). use an empty file on a shared drive. comma-delimited. Open Excel from your workstation and import the text file. You can publish your Excel template in a SP document library of course. Just another way.

have fun.
