Issue Installing SLK

Aug 25, 2008 at 5:52 PM
All,
I am a super noobie here.  I am having trouble installing the SLK.  I am running SharePoint 2003 on a Win2K3 server.  I have my DB on a seperate Win2K3 box running SQL2005.
I have had to edit the cmd file.  Basically the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12 dir does not exsist.  I went looking for the stsadm exe file and found it at ...\web server extension\60.  So I edited the cmd file as such...now when I go to the command line and run addsolution, this is what I get (I have a feeling that since the "addsolution" option is not in the list...that's where the problem lies):

C:\Install>addsolution

C:\Install>rem -- adds the SharePointLearningKit solution to WSS; use DeploySolu
tion.cmd to deploy it

C:\Install>if exist Debug\SharePointLearningKit.wsp goto debug

C:\Install>goto release

C:\Install>"c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\web server extensions
\60"\bin\stsadm -o addsolution -filename Release\SharePointLearningKit.wsp

I believe you're running the wrong version of SharePoint.  Read through the getting started guide for specifics on which version of SharePoint is required.

That's right!  I'm running 2003 instead of 2007.  Will need to start over.
