A very nice feature of Codeplex is that if you use their source control system, all of the source code becomes viewable via the website, in our case at

A very nice feature of Google is that you can restrict it's search hits to a specific web site or part of a website using the site: parameter.

Put these two things together and you can go to Google (or the search box in IE7 when set to Google search engine) and type:

site: compression

and you will see all places in the SLK source code where the word compression is used

To get Google to restrict the results to a specific version (e.g. changeset 33333) add inurl:33333 as well:
site: inurl:33333 compression

Using this technique, you should be able to figure out most anything about how SLK operates by just using the web browser and search :-)
