SQL Reports for SharePoint Site

Ok, now for what I did for our test.

I was able to install the Sharepoint SSIS adapters on the server hosting the SQL database.

Use the Business Intelligence to create a new project. Link an OLE DB source database to the SharePoint list distination (from the toolbox).

OLE DB connection properties for your SQL database and table or view. ( recommend created simple SQL view with all student info)

Ensure you add the sharepoint site as https://sp123/sitecollection   and not the /default.aspx when creating the SharePoint List destination (not exactly described in the MSDN link above).

 

One more thing, if you create a SQL job to run to run your custom-made package.dtsx to run, remember the the SQL agent will need at least "contribute" permissions to whatever site your trying to publish to.
