hi,

we would like to create a custom button in frameset banner to submit an assignment.
we tried to digg and try to figure out how to send a "completion status" but with no luck.

also, we've seen in : http://slk.codeplex.com/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=31101 that there was some WS mentioned to control assignment complition status, but we couldnt find any deployment instructions.

can someone please guide us to the correct call for assignment submission or send us a guide to the WS deployment ?

Thanks.

uv_h,

I suggest you review the "AssignmentProperties.aspx.cs" module. I think you'll find what you're looking for there. See if that does it for you...

See:
1. SubmitAssignment
2. SetAssignmentProperties

Thanks for ur answer.

Dealing with this issue through the "AssignmentProperties.aspx.cs" is problematic for us because there r about 5000 users assigned, therefore calling the "submit assignment" would take few minutes to load. That means that every time a user will submit an assignment he will have to wait a while before proceeding.

We are looking for a solution such as the one provided by the TOC on the frameset, which will be submitted immediately.

Thanks a lot!

You might want to look at the thread http://slk.codeplex.com/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=31101 where people have come up with various ideas to do similar.

Hi uv_h,

I am running into the same problem, have you found any solution for assigning more than 5000 users?

Thanks

jksp,

This thread discussing on auto submitting assignments when success status equals 1.

From your question, I understand that you want to assign assignments automatically?

Since we've done both, please provide more details on what you actually want to achieve.

jksp,

we've written a process based on SLK API.

the process is used to sync AD Groups to assignments according to XML definition file.

the XML maps assignments to groups.

the process is running once a day and update users in pre-defined AD groups.

so, the only thing you have to do is to add users to the pre-defined AD group.

if it suites your needs please let me know.

Hi Razis,

This is exactly what I'm trying to do! Any chance of forwarding me a few pointers - anything would really help!

Thanks in advance.
