Documentation on How to use SLK with non-eLearning content

Is there any documentation on how to load and use SLK with non-eLearning content?

Unfortunately not. However, it's simply a case of putting the document in SharePoint and then assigning it.

If it's an office document then they can work on the version in SharePoint assigned to them, either in the client applications or Office Web Apps if SLK is configured for that, and the Instructor can comment directly in it as well. Otherwise they need to download (automatically when clicking on begin assignment) and upload to submit.

If you use the Quick Assignment web part, you can also create an assignment without any backing document e.g. Read Chapter 2 by next Friday.
