Fresh install - Configure Course Manager Not Available

After repeated failures when trying to get the Plan and Assign web part to work, I uninstalled everything, and re-installed as a Fresh installation of SLK 1.4.

Carefully following the instructions in the "Getting Started" document, AND the readme files, and now I no longer have an SLK Course Manager Administration section in Central Administration, and no "Configure Course Manager" as an option.

The Activate Course Manager Administration option is available in the Site Settings, but I can't configure the database to support it.

Please advise -

I am now up and running.

I had to activate the Course Manager via Central Administration.
