I have claims authentication set up for my web application. I deployed SharePoint learning kit but when I try to assign some document to learner, I get " An error occurred. More information may be available in the server event log. "

Does it work with forms authentication?

Hi,

My Server has two installed domain.
Domain A has 2 way trust (System Account is Added in this Domain)
Domain B has 1 way trust.

When I add an AD Group from Domain A in my Site. SLK can get all of its members
But when i add an AD Group from Domain B it cannot get the members of the Group.

Is there a problem in getting the members of an AD Group with a domain with 1 way trust?
Comments: Hi, For this issue we have encountered two problems. 1. Permission SLK Code run under the credentials of our System Account that only has an access on Domain A. As for our Policy we are not allowed to Grant an access to our System Account on Domain B. What we did is to request for a credentials that at least have a read permission to Domain B, then update the code that if the AD Group is from Domain B, we use the Domain B given credentials. 2. SLK returns a wrong LDAP connection string when connecting to Domain B. I wasn't able to determine the root cause of this error, but i was able to formulate solution to it. What we did is to get the DirectoryEntry of SPUser using GroupPrincipalContext. This will require the use of System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement.dll but this was not allowed on .Net 2.0. So what we did is to create a class in .Net 3.5 that gets the GroupPrincipalContext of the SPUser the return it as DirectoryEntry. Then update EnumerateDomainGroup groupEntry from using the LDAP path to use the class we created as the DirectoryEntry. Hopefully this may help someone too. :)

Hi,

I have installed SLK 1.5.2 in my SharePoint 2010 Server. It's working as expected for individually added user. But when I add an AD Distribution Group as an Instructor or Learner the Members of the added AD Distribution Group is not visible in assigning the Quiz (AssignmentProperties.aspx).

Is there something i missed in configuring SLK?

Hi all,
I am using SLK 1.5 with SP2010 foundation on Windows 2008 r2.
When I include a windows security group inside the learners group (sharepoint group) I get an error when attempting to create a new assignment or edit an existing. The error message is "An error has occurred. May be more information is available on server ...". If I remove the windows group from inside the sharepoint group, the create an assignment step works fine. Is there any workaround ?

Comments: Hi Richard, The only log I can find, is in the Windows Application Log and the message is as follows : -- The description for Event ID 0 from source Microsoft-SharePoint Products-SharePoint Foundation cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: SharePoint Learning Kit Error the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table -- Is there any other system I can look for ? When I attempt to activate SPLK on my SharePoint 2010 Test Server, I get the following error:

This solution contains invalid markup or elements that cannot be deployed as part of a sandboxed solution. Solution manifest for solution '00057001-c978-11da-ba52-00042350e42e' failed validation, file manifest.xml, line 18, character 6: The element 'Solution' in namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/' has invalid child element 'TemplateFiles' in namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/'. List of possible elements expected: 'FeatureManifests, ActivationDependencies' in namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/'.

Any workarounds to this?
Comments: Should be in the discussion forums. You need to install it as a farm solution not a user solution.

I have an issue where if I click one page of the course and then click another (before the first page has finished loading) it breaks the navigation.

After the above, it will then load the last page clicked and clicking on any other pages will have no effect, it just stays on that page of the course. Any idea what might be causing this issue?

Any help would be much appreciated.

(Using IE8, also tested in IE7, with latest version of SLK)

Note Changing

In it's first occurance in FramesetMgr.js seems to fix the issue, but it then messes up the grading of graded content (seems to mark the first page then doesn't mark the following one).

Hi all,

I am going to debug sharepoint learning kit using visual studio 2010. I have followed all the steps which are required to debug sharepoint learning kit (given in ReadMe.txt file included with the source code), but when I right click AssignmentProperties.aspx page using visual studio solution explorer and click on 'View in Browser', I get the following error:

"You must sign in to use SharePoint Learning Kit."

Can anyone help me out?

Comments: If anyone else had trouble with this, changing the following line: ``` g_frameMgr.WaitForContentCompleted(2); ``` To: ``` g_frameMgr.WaitForContentCompleted(1); ``` In FramesetMgr.js seems to fix my issue, though I'm not sure why it's set to 2 (to wait to load the page twice before proceeding) to begin with, so I'm a bit weary of changing it. If anyone has any information, the sharing thereof would be much appreciated.
