Setting multiple attempts on an assignment

I don't think this is part of the scope of the SLK but need to clarify for sure.

Has there been any thoughts on the possibility of extending the SLK to enable multiple attempts of an assignment?

It would be cool to have an assignment have a passing score, have it autograded, and have it reassigned, say up to three times, if the student dosen't pass it the first time.

Is there a way that you can see the SLK extended in this way without modifying the schema?

There are a couple ways of doing something like this in the current SLK plans, but it may not be exactly how you describe.

Probably the best way to get this behavior automatically is through SCORM 2004 content designed to behave this way. With SCORM 2004, it is possible to setup rules to have a passing score (minNormalizedMeasure) and rules (rollup rules) to repeat a section with a new attempt if the learner didn’t successfully complete it. You can also specify the maximum number of attempts for the learner.

Within SLK’s assignment concept, there isn’t an automatic reassignment feature. There is a reactivate feature where an instructor can manually reactivate an assignment, which basically sends the assignment back to the learner to try again. (Note reactivate is not yet implemented as of CTP3.)
